Mary Lounsbury

My work examines the recurrent patterns I observe through my life, informed by my extensive study of the symbolic languages of astrology, tarot, mythology and dreams. Through book and print, I explore the interface between "real" and "imaginary." In this vast territory, the edges are always shifting as what we imagine becomes real, and what we realize inspires our imagination. I hope to engage you in a conversation about just how much our intentions, our perceptions and our beliefs shape our experiences and our world.

I am a lifelong maker of things. For many years, my preferred medium was fiber. More recently, I have migrated into photography and book arts. In 2008, I founded the Leaf and Lizard Publishing Company, to share my appreciation of the beauty and magic in every day.

Leaf & Lizard Publishing Company is dedicated to publishing ideas that help people to reimagine living in a more beautiful, balanced way. Leaf and Lizard publishes an annual moon journal and a growing line of books and novelties that explore imaginative visions.
