Black Mountain Tailgate Market
Saturdays from 9-Noon May-October
The market's open! May 8 was opening day, and many folks turned out. The weather was grand and there were lots of goodies to choose from. What a valuable local resource, offering a great variety of products, including fantastically fresh organic produce. This friendly market under the trees has the timeless quality of neighbors shopping, selling and catching up on news. Enjoy being a part of this local economy.
I'll be there selling my books and unveiling a few new, fun products over the season. Please stop and say hi!
Located at 130 Montreat Road (behind the First Batist Church), Black Mountain, NC 28711 Visit the website at blackmountaintailgatemarket.org for more info.

Art in Bloom 2010 Coming Up
June 17-20, 2010
Each summer the Black Mountain Center for the Arts hosts their annual Art in Bloom exhibit, where designers create wondrous floral arrangements, each inspired by and displayed alongside a work of art. I'm looking forward to photographing the exhibit and creating the exhibit catalog once again this year. This fantastic show is curated by Executive Director Gale Jackson, with artworks on loan from galleries throughout the region. Can't wait to see what they dream up this year!
You can see highlights of the last year's exhibit here.
The exhibit catalog is available for purchase directly from the Black Mountain Center for the Arts.
A Zillion Different Directions
An interview about the creative life with photographer Mary Lounsbury
I enjoyed being interviewed by poet Laura Hope-Gill for the April, 2010 issue of Western North Carolina Woman. It's on newstands now, or you can read it online at wnc-woman.com. Thanks, Laura, and thanks also to Julie and Sandi for bringing WNC Woman to us all!
